JSW Group plans to invest Rs 65,000 crore to establish an integrated plant consisting of steel, power, port, and cement facilities in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha.

The proposed steel plant is expected to have an annual steel production capacity of approximately 13.2 million tonnes, which can create around 30,000 job opportunities. Additionally, the port and jetty project has been designed to handle 52 million tons of cargo annually. Furthermore, the cement plant will have the capacity to produce 10 million tonnes of cement, and an iron ore slurry transportation system will be able to transport 30 million tonnes of iron ore per annum.

JSW Steel’s integrated green steel project is expected to boost economic growth in the region by creating a strong ancillary and downstream ecosystem, which will provide employment opportunities for approximately 30,000 people in direct and indirect jobs. The complex will follow a circular economy practice and serve as a model for cleanliness, greenery, and top-notch technology worldwide.

The Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO) has recently allocated 2,958 acres of land to JSW for the purpose of setting up an integrated manufacturing facility. As a part of the project, 30 percent of the total land will be reserved for the conservation of forests and water bodies.servation of forests and water bodies.

The land was originally earmarked for a 12 MTPA steel plant by Korean Steel Major Posco in 2005 with an investment of Rs 52,000 crore.
