For Excon 2023, Filtrec launched complete hydraulic filter kits for excavators and rock breakers. The excavator market is predominantly dominated by import sources, struggling for a one-stop purchase option. With 30 years of experience in the hydraulic field, Filtrec introduced robust hydraulic filter kits for excavators, manufactured in a clean room facility, adhering to ISO quality standards, and tested for 10 lakh working cycles.
While talking about your entire product range, what was the response to your products, and what were the takeaways from the event?
The hydraulic filter kits for excavators received significant attention and business inquiries from OEMs, distributors, and end-users. The display included breathers, suction filters, return filters, medium-pressure filters (pilot), and heavy-duty rock breaker filters.
What are the key advantages of the Filtrec kits for excavators?
Filtrec’s hydraulic kit for excavators offers a power-packed performance with a longer service life for filters, higher direct holding capacity, lower pressure drop, higher filtration efficiency, and longer change intervals for oil. Designed and tested for extreme Indian field conditions, the in-house manufacturing of components, except media, provides cost benefits and better control over quality and delivery for the end customer.
How does FILTREC leverage the latest filtration technology in the design of its products, and how does it enhance the efficiency of the filtration process, increasing productivity in industrial operations?
Filtrec Bharat is known for continuous innovation in hydraulic filtration. Over 5% of revenue is allocated to R&D for research and testing. The challenges faced by hydraulic circuits, such as dirt entrapments, varnish, sludge formation, oxidation, rust formation, noise, quick aging, and degradation of hydraulic oil, are addressed with innovative solutions like anti-varnish media and absolute beta spark buster and H20 filters.
Your primary focus is on the R&D department. Please talk about test rigs in the lab and how they are equipped to meet international specifications.
Our R&D center is equipped with the latest test benches simulating actual field conditions. Testing is conducted in accordance with ISO and NFPA standards to ensure filtration efficiency, maximum dirt-holding capacity, minimal pressure drop, seamless flow, good fabrication strength, better oil compatibility, and extended durability against extreme flow and pressure fatigue.
How do the selection and use of hydraulic filtration solutions contribute to lowering the total cost of ownership in hydraulic systems?
In a market, where a large portion of construction equipment buyers are from rural areas with financing from banks or NBFCs, controlling operation and maintenance costs is crucial. Filtrec’s 2000 BETA ratio filter extends the filter change time beyond 1000 hours, preventing rapid aging and degradation of hydraulic oil. Collaborating with Filtrec helps end-users reduce service, maintenance, and repair costs, enhancing the lifetime value of the machine.
What is the focus of your R&D department towards new products and solutions in 2024?
As India is expected to become the 3rd largest economy by FY 28, Filtrec plans to introduce new products in hydraulic filtration to cater to the anticipated threefold growth in the construction equipment industry in the next 6 to 8 years.
What are your future plans to participate in upcoming expos like Bauma?
Certainly, we plan to continue participating in expos like Excon and Bauma as these platforms provide the right opportunity to promote our new launches and connect with potential customers.
