The first phase of Mumbai’s most awaited underground Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, is set to open to the public. This new line will allow commuters to travel between Bandra Kurla Complex and Aarey in just 30 minutes for less than ₹50.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to inaugurate the first underground Metro Line in Mumbai; however, the MMRCL has not yet received confirmation from the central government regarding this.
The trains will run every 6.5 minutes during peak hours. Ashwini Bhide, Managing Director of MMRCL, has announced that the launch will happen in early October.
The fare for this ride will range from ₹10 to ₹50 for a one-way journey between Aarey and BKC.
In the initial stage, nine rakes, each with eight coaches, will service this stretch, and the frequency is expected to increase as the entire 33.5 km corridor becomes operational by April 2025.
