Promoting Productivity and Sustainability are Strategies for the Future of Construction

Sharp Ply India Private Limited, led by Managing Director,  Paras Tarachand Chowatia, envisions Bauma Conexpo India 2024 as a transformative platform to showcase cutting-edge construction solutions, drive innovation, and create sustainable infrastructure development.

Bauma Conexpo India 2024 is set to be a landmark event in the construction machinery, building materials, and mining industries. As one of the premier trade shows in India, my expectations are centered around several key areas.

Firstly, I anticipate a robust showcase of cutting-edge technologies and innovations. India is rapidly modernizing its infrastructure, and the demand for advanced machinery, sustainable practices, and digital solutions is growing. I expect to see a strong emphasis on automation, AI-driven machinery, and eco-friendly solutions that align with India’s growing focus on sustainability and green construction practices.

Overall, Bauma Conexpo India 2024 is poised to be a dynamic platform for industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to come together, share insights, and shape the future of the construction sector in India and beyond. It’s an exciting time to be part of the industry

We will be looking to display our vast range of products at this year’s expo trying to highlight all the fields covered by Sharp Ply under its diverse umbrella with major focus to the ones targeted and developed for the construction industry such as system formwork and it’s components like H-beams & film faced plywood.

India is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing markets for our products. The country’s infrastructure development is booming, driven by ambitious government projects such as smart cities, highways, airports, and metro systems. The sheer scale of these projects, coupled with a growing focus on sustainable construction practices, creates an ideal environment for our innovative solutions. India’s emphasis on improving its infrastructure, coupled with increasing urbanization, makes it a critical market for both our construction and mining products.

The construction industry stands at a critical juncture, facing mounting pressures to increase productivity while also addressing sustainability concerns. As we look toward the future, I believe there are several key strategies that can help the industry achieve a balance between these two priorities.

Here are my thoughts on how we can move the needle forward on both fronts:

Embrace Technology and Automation: To address both productivity and sustainability, the first major step is embracing advanced technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, and automation. These technologies have the potential to significantly improve
operational efficiency while also reducing waste and resource consumption.

Focus on Green Construction Materials: Sustainability in construction is heavily tied to the materials we use. Green building materials—such as low-carbon concrete, recycled steel, and sustainable timber—are becoming more widely available and can
significantly reduce the environmental impact of a construction project.

Optimize Supply Chain and Logistics: A major factor affecting both productivity and sustainability is the supply chain. Often, inefficiencies in the procurement of materials or logistics can result in delays, excess inventory, and higher carbon emissions from transportation. To optimize the supply chain, we need to focus on just-in-time delivery and local sourcing of materials to minimize transportation distances and reduce emissions.
