Sanjay Jain, Business Head of Mahindra Powerol highlights the success story of how Mahindra Powerol has emerged as a leader in the diesel engine market. The brand is also recognized as one of the biggest names in the country for generating sets, proudly carrying forward the legacy of innovation and reliability under the Mahindra Powerol banner.
Could you please give us an overview of the product launch?
By volume, Mahindra is among the biggest producers of engines. In terms of production volume, we produce over a million tractor, automotive, and industrial engines annually. As is well known, India is attempting to keep up with global emissions trends. Subsequently, India is catching up quickly. From 1st January 2025, new norms are going to be applicable for the emission, which is BSV, for the entire range of the construction equipment.
Because we work in the automobile industry, the tractor and the standards entered the automotive industry considerably earlier. As a result, we have technology at our fingertips. Even in our gensets, the norms have started last year. All of our clients have received the prototypes. We are completely prepared to assist our clients and the nation starting on January 1st, and they are testing and validating it.
Also, Pollution is one of the most talked about matter in the world today and, India should catch up. We aim to be in lines with the government policies and the world trends. So we are ready fully ready for it.

As compared to the last BAUMA, what are the new innovations or strategies that Mahindra Powerol has come up with?
When new standards and technologies are implemented, the industry experiences a consolidation. Since meeting these technologies requires significant investment. All of such actions have been taken by Mahindra.
Additionally, we have provided the customer with a very competitive product that is efficient in fuel usage and produces good emission outcomes. Currently, the majority of our clients only purchase from us for one engine. For the various pieces of equipment, they are searching for a lot more nodes of our engine. Therefore, last BAUMA was really helpful to us because it allowed us to showcase our technology and meet a lot of new customers. Additionally, we’ve seen that many of our customers are showcasing our goods at the exhibition this year. We are thrilled about that.
Could you talk to us about the sustainability factor of your products and how do you balance efficiency and sustainability?
We all share a strong commitment to sustainability both domestically and internationally. According to the policy, we make all of our products sustainable. Second, compared to our emission standards, it is far superior and as per Gov. norms.

What is Mahindra Powerol’s vision of VIKASIT BHARAT?

As a result, BAUMA is a very good platform that we anticipate attracting a lot more customers.
