India’s construction and mining equipment sector is on a fast track. The industry is expected to grow from $16 billion to $45 billion by 2030. Meeting the demands of this expanding market, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has launched the new BharatBenz Construction and Mining range. This includes the all-new HX and Torqshift series.

These heavy-duty trucks have been designed to meet the rising demand for reliable, high-performance vehicles. As contractors invest more in their own fleets and begin replacing older vehicles, the need for durable and efficient equipment is becoming critical.

Tested and Proven in Real Conditions

Before the official launch, DICV deployed over 150 BharatBenz trucks for trials at high-intensity construction and mining sites across India. The trials focused on real-world performance—tracking uptime, fuel efficiency, and operating costs. The results confirmed strong improvements, paving the way for full-scale production.

Satyakam Arya, Managing Director and CEO of DICV, said:

“Construction and mining are key growth drivers for us. We’re seeing more large contractors move towards owning fleets, aiming for long-term returns and better control. Many fleets today are nearing the end of their life cycle, and we’re stepping in with dependable solutions. Our trucks have been validated with over 150 customer trial units, proving their ability to deliver real value.”

Complete Range for Construction and Mining Needs

The expanded BharatBenz lineup includes models built for a wide range of use cases:

Heavy-Duty Construction Vehicles:
The HX series includes the 2828C HX and 3532C HX models. Built for high productivity, durability, and ease of operation, they offer:

Mining Applications:
The Torqshift series (2832CM and 3532CM) comes with a globally proven Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) system. It offers:

Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Solutions:
The 2828C RMC variant is powered by the robust OM 926 BSVI OBD-II engine, generating 280 hp and 1100 Nm torque. It features a 9 cubic meter mixer, making it a reliable solution for concrete delivery in tough conditions.

Pradeep Kumar Thimmaiyan, President and CTO of DICV, said:

“We designed these vehicles by listening to what customers really need—higher payload, better efficiency, and lower maintenance. We’ve also focused heavily on safety, using cabins that meet the EU ECE R29-03 crash safety standard and including top-tier safety features.”

What Makes the HX Series Stand Out

Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer at DICV, added:

“Fleet operators want more uptime and less downtime. With the HX range, we’re helping them reduce delays and streamline their projects. There’s strong interest in features like GPS, hill-start assist, and better driver comfort. We’re also seeing safety becoming a top priority—with features like reverse cameras and driver monitoring systems gaining popularity.”

Strong Support Network and Service Offering

The new range will be available across BharatBenz’s 385 dealership touchpoints in India. The company is also offering attractive annual maintenance contracts of 15,000 hours, ensuring higher reliability and peace of mind.

DICV’s uptime center uses advanced diagnostics and real-time vehicle monitoring to offer predictive maintenance. This helps fleet operators reduce unexpected breakdowns and maintain peak vehicle performance.

BharatBenz continues to be a trusted name in construction and mining transport. Its trucks are already part of key infrastructure projects across India. With this new range, the company reinforces its commitment to support the country’s infrastructure growth with advanced and dependable commercial vehicles.
