HD Construction Equipment India Strengthens Focus on Agriculture,
Quarrying and Mining at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026
HD Construction Equipment India is looking to strengthen its position in India’s evolving construction equipment market on application-specific machinery for agriculture, quarrying and mining, as the company prepares for the 8th edition of bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026.
The exhibition, scheduled from September 15 to 18 at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, comes at a time when India’s construction equipment sector is being reshaped by infrastructure investments, growing mechanisation and growing demand for infrastructure.
Hyundai will use the platform to unveil new products across key equipment categories, with the company placing particular emphasis on agriculture and quarrying, two segments it sees as offering significant opportunities for future growth.
Customer requirements are evolving rapidly across India’s construction, agriculture and quarrying sectors, and our focus is on developing solutions that are aligned with these changing needs. bauma CONEXPO India allows us to showcase our latest offerings while engaging directly with customers and industry stakeholders, helping us gain valuable market insights and strengthen our approach to future products and applications,” said Sharwan Agnihotri, Sales Head – North, Central and West, HD Construction Equipment India.
Focus on specialised applications
A key part of HD’s showcase will be its SMART PLUS range and the all-new SMART X Plus Series, including 20-tonne excavators, mini excavators and wheel loaders.
The equipment is designed for applications including quarrying and rural infrastructure, where operating conditions can vary significantly, and customers increasingly require machines that deliver better performance.
The move towards application-specific equipment reflects a wider shift in the Indian market. Equipment buyers are increasingly evaluating machines based on initial acquisition costs, fuel consumption, utilisation, maintenance requirements, uptime and total lifecycle economics.
Manufacturers are therefore under pressure to provide machines that can deliver measurable returns over their operating life. For HD, expanding into applications such as agriculture and quarrying provides an opportunity to address this changing demand with products tailored to specific working environments.

Mining remains a key growth engine
Mining is expected to remain one of the major demand drivers for construction equipment over the next 12–18 months. Rising requirements for minerals, coupled with continued infrastructure and industrial development, are expected to support demand for excavators, loaders and other heavy equipment.
The mining industry is also becoming increasingly technology-driven. Telematics, remote monitoring and intelligent control systems are gaining importance as operators seek greater visibility into machine utilisation, maintenance schedules and operating performance.
For fleet owners, these technologies can help identify under-utilised equipment, anticipate maintenance requirements and improve machine availability.
The transition is consequently changing expectations from equipment manufacturers. Machines of the future will need to combine conventional attributes such as power, durability and reliability with connectivity, intelligence and greater efficiency.
Hyundai plans to highlight this combination of equipment capability and technology as part of its bauma CONEXPO India showcase.
Agriculture emerges as a new opportunity
Agriculture is another segment where increasing mechanisation is creating opportunities for construction equipment manufacturers. As farm operations and related activities become more mechanised, demand is emerging for equipment capable of handling applications such as land development, material movement and other infrastructure-related activities in rural areas.
Hyundai responds to this trend with application-focused solutions designed around the operating requirements of customers in these environments.
Quarrying similarly presents opportunities for high-performance equipment. The demanding nature of quarry operations requires machine productivity while operating under tough conditions.
By developing dedicated solutions for these segments, Hyundai aims to expand its addressable market while responding to the changing needs of customers.
Aftermarket becomes a competitive differentiator
As equipment becomes more sophisticated and customers focus mainly on lifecycle costs, aftermarket support is emerging as an important differentiator for manufacturers.
Hyundai will therefore also showcase its aftermarket ecosystem covering service, genuine parts and digital support solutions. The objective is to help customers maximise equipment uptime and extract greater value from their machines throughout the ownership cycle.
For fleet operators, minimising downtime can have a direct impact on project economics. Reliable service infrastructure, availability of genuine parts and technology-enabled support can consequently play an important role in equipment selection.
Exhibition to provide market insights
While product launches will be a major attraction, Hyundai views bauma CONEXPO India as an important platform for direct interaction with customers, dealers and other industry stakeholders.
Previous editions have attracted participation from customers across different regions and countries, making the event an important forum for manufacturers to understand market trends and customer expectations.
For Hyundai, these interactions will provide an opportunity to gather feedback on emerging applications and use that market intelligence to inform future product and business strategies.
The company’s approach comes as the Indian construction equipment industry enters a period where growth is increasingly being driven not simply by volumes but by changing applications and higher expectations around machine performance. The next phase of the market is likely to be defined by equipment that offers greater productivity, improved efficiency and higher uptime, and stronger support throughout its lifecycle. Hyundai’s presence at bauma CONEXPO India 2026 reflects this transition, bringing together new product development, application-specific engineering, smart technologies and aftermarket support as the company looks to participate in India’s next phase of construction, mining, infrastructure, agriculture and quarrying growth.
